Taiwan is a long and narrow island from north to south, covering an area of about 36,000 square kilometers (14,400 square miles). It is located in the southeast of the Asian continent and the East Asian island belt on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean. It is bordered by Japan and the Ryukyu Islands in the north and the Philippine Islands in the south. The aviation network extends in all directions, making it one of the most convenient tourist destinations.

Taiwan's natural resources and cultural features are very impressive and it is the best choice for island tourism.

In terms of natural resources, due to the continuous movement of stratigraphic plates, Taiwan's complex and changeable topography is rich in mountains, hills, plains, basins, islands, longitudinal valleys and coasts; in addition, the Tropic of Cancer just passes through it, making Taiwan Taiwan has a variety of natural ecology in tropical, subtropical and temperate zones. Taiwan can be roughly divided into the northern region, the central region, the southern region, the eastern region and the outlying islands. The following is a brief introduction to each region.

Northern Region:

There are 7 counties and cities in Northern Region, including Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City, Yilan County, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County and Hsinchu City. The central region includes five counties and cities including Miaoli County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, and Yunlin County. Southern region:

The southern region includes Chiayi County, Kaohsiung City, Tainan City and Pingtung County.

Tainan City is the ancient cultural capital with a long history in Taiwan. Before the end of the 19th century, Tainan had always been the political, economic and cultural center of Taiwan, with many historic sites and scenic spots.

Kaohsiung, the second largest city in Taiwan, also has the largest port in Taiwan - Kaohsiung Port. Its container throughput used to be the third in the world and it is currently ranked fifteenth in the world. It is a prosperous international city. Famous scenic spots in Kaohsiung include Love River, Fo Guang Shan, Xiziwan, Lianchitan, Cijin, Zuoying Old City.

The "Tropic of Cancer Astronomical Plaza" was built in Chiayi County because of the passage of the Tropic of Cancer, presenting the geographical symbol of the Tropic of Cancer. The Alishan Forest Recreation Area is world-famous. The Alpine Forest Railway and many quiet ancient forest trails attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. The climate in southern Taiwan is like summer all year round. Kenting Park, located in Pingtung, is blessed by nature.
