Departing from Taipei this morning, it takes less than 2 hours comfortable high-speed train to arrive at Kaohsiung, the most populous city in southern Taiwan and a romantic seaport city. Your driver will pick you up at the station.

Fo Guang Shan
Fo Guang Shan is a big Buddhist monastery founded by Master Hsing Yun in 1967. There is a Buddha Amitabha in a gold color that can be seen from miles away, also the tallest bronze sitting Buddha statue in the world. Here you will have a good understanding of the doctrines and development of Buddhism, the most widely practiced religion in Taiwan. Additionally, the restaurants in the monastery provide tasty and hearty vegetarian meals that you a try at your own expense.

The Pier2 Art Center
After the monastery tour, you will move down the hill to the center of the city and stroll around the Pier2 Art Center, which was used an abandoned pier warehouse. After revamping by some persistent artists, now this area is reborn as a vibrant neighborhood hub for arts and culture.

Cijin Island
Take a ferry to a small island next to Kaohsiung City - Cijin Island. This is one of the famous fishing ports in Kaohsiung. It provides a lot of delicious seafood every day. We can take a tricycle to stroll and enjoy all kinds of food on the street.
Liuhe Tourist Night Market
After a nostalgic tour of Cijing Island, it’s time to fulfill your appetite with some local delicacies at Liuhe Night Market, the oldest and most typical night market in Kaohsiung. Kenting National Park
After breakfast, you will head south of the border, which is Taiwan’s first national park. Kenting National Park is known for its coastal geologic features and landscapes and the marine biodiversity due to crustal deformation and tropical climate. Besides, Kenting is also a paradise for surfers and divers. Today you will stop at Maopitou Park, Chuanfan Rock, Eluanpi Lighthouse and Longpan Park.

Longpan Park
Longpan Park is a coral limestone tableland eroded by rainwater. It keeps the original features of the landscape with wide grassland and faces the Pacific Ocean.
Hengchun Old Town
After Longpan Park, you will stop by Hengchun Old Town on the way back to Kaohsiung. This old town is known for its well-preserved city walls that surround the city for over a hundred years. It was also preserved as a national historic monument.

Fort Provincia
After breakfast, you will head for the former Capital City – Tainan. Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan. Today we will go on a historic tour. The first stop is Fort Provincia, which was listed as a national historic monument in 1983. The fortress was originally constructed by the Dutch in 1653 and then rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty and the period under Japanese rule.

Anping Old Fort
Anping Old Fort was built by the Dutch East India Company during their 38-year rule of the western part of Taiwan. The British army almost destroyed the original fortress during the 19th century and then was reconstructed by Japanese.

Anping Tree House
There is the famous Anping Tree House near Anping Old Fort, which used to be the warehouse of the former Tait & Co. Merchant House. After being abandoned for many years, the building was taken over by banyan trees; the aerial roots reach the structures deeply and become a part of the building.

The Yanping County King's Temple
It was built in the Ming Dynasty in 1662 to commemorate the achievements of Zheng Chenggong. It is also the only Hokkien-style temple in Taiwan. In 1661, Zheng Chenggong led his troops to land at Luermen, drove away the Dutch, actively built Taiwan, encouraged officers and soldiers to set up families there and recruited mainland coastal residents to reclaim Taiwan. After Zheng Chenggong's death, later generations built a temple here to honor his great achievements.
After a full day of sightseeing in Tainan, you will take high-speed train back to Taipei. Your driver will pick you up at the station and take you to hotel.
